500			_aEn ocasiones el destino de ciertos libros es abrirse camino en la historia de la literatura. Este es quizás el caso de Viaje alrededor de mi habitación. Su autor, el oficial saboyano Xavier de Maistre, debió pasar en su habitación, en Turín, un arresto domiciliario de 42 días y aprovechó para realizar un viaje que había previsto hacía muchísimo tiempo y nunca había podido realizar: un viaje alrededor de su cuarto. Y con el ánimo de registrar esta travesía, escribió 42 capítulos, correspondientes a los 42 días de su confinamiento.
500			_aSometimes the fate of certain books is to make their way in the history of literature. This is perhaps the case with Journey Around My Room. The author of it, the Savoyard officer Xavier de Maistre, had to spend 42 days of house arrest in his room in Turin and took the opportunity to make a trip that he had planned a long time ago and had never been able to do: a trip around from his room. And with the intention of recording this journey, he wrote 42 chapters, corresponding to the 42 days of his confinement.
